Early in the year 2001, God instilled a vision into the heart of Derek Godfrey. That vision was small and rather unclear at the time. As the years have passed, that vision has continued to grow and become clearer. To put it simply, it is a vision of revival. God has since placed a tremendous burden, for both the backslider and the unbeliever, on the heart of Derek Godfrey.
Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV) And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Habakkuk tells us to “make the vision plain”, and in writing, so here it is!
Derek is truly passionate about the Kingdom of God, and he envisions a ministry of revival and renewal where:
- A sovereign move of God shakes the United States and the Fires of Revival spread across the nation and across the world.
- Many churches are planted as a result of the Power of God falling on the Earth.
- Prayer takes precedence.
- People are healed of sickness and disease.
- People are delivered from addictions and demonic oppression.
- Holiness is a way of life, rather than an option.
- People can worship God freely and unhindered.
- The Power of God (the tangible touch) is evident in the lives of the people and is felt by everyone.
- The presence of God is manifested continually and people fall on their faces before a Holy God in reverence and repentance.
- Both the unbeliever and the backslider come to repentance solely by virtue of being in God’s manifest presence, and not by skillful preaching, church programs, special services, church-growth fads, or by any other human method. It is high time we stop pleasing the world and start pleasing God! We need sincere repentance and true revival, not more false converts!
- A School of Ministry is opened where people are taught how to evangelize the community, where disciples are made, where people are equipped to operate in the supernatural and move in the Spiritual Gifts, and where those who are truly called of God to preach are trained to be true Ministers of the Gospel.
- People worldwide are changed by God’s grace through Television, Radio, and the Internet…without ever leaving their home.
- The homeless and the poor will know hope, and have eternal life, because of Outreach efforts made by a church who cares and is actually BEING the church!
- Youth Centers are keeping teenagers and children off of the streets and out of prison…free from the bondages of drugs, alcohol, and violence.
- Live-In Centers for unwed mothers are saving the lives of countless babies and keeping young women and teenage girls from turning to drugs, alcohol, and prostitution.
- Private schools for Grades K-12 are instructing our children in the ways of the Lord.
- The widows and the elderly are taken care of without the need for Nursing Homes, welfare, or being forced into poverty.
- A Nursing Home is serving those elderly who cannot take care of themselves and are not being cared for by the church at their place of residence.
Each one of these ministries is a small piece of the big picture. Each ministry has its own mission and vision; but without each one, the greater vision cannot become a reality.
